SPRING LAKE TWP. — Spring Lake High School’s latest theater production, “Bad Seed,” continues tonight and Saturday.

“Bad Seed” performances are at 7 tonight and 2 p.m. Saturday at the school, 16140 148th Ave. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. They can be purchased at the door or online at www.springlakeschools.org.

“Bad Seed” follows the story of a mother, Christine, who discovered that her daughter, Rhoda, killed people who either got in her way or made her angry. Throughout the production, Christine works to discover her past and reconcile it with the future, given her daughter’s actions.

Bringing to life the role of Christine is SLHS senior Karenna Johnson. Junior Brie Contreras plays the role of Rhoda. Senior Jared Hogan portrays apartment caretaker LeRoy.

Director Shaylynn Chalupa said she likes the production because each of the characters are great studies for students.

“It’s been a fantastic process working with the students on this show and trying to bring these characters to life,” she said.

“Bad Seed” kicks off the SLHS theater department’s double-header of shows. The department will produce “Poe’s Midnight Dreary” at 7 p.m. Nov. 1-2 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 3.
