Police seeking information on body discovered Saturday in field off U.S. 31

Holland police are investigating the discovery of a body late Saturday morning along U.S. 31 south of 16th Street.

At 10:37 a.m. Saturday, officers from the Holland Department of Public Safety were dispatched to a report of a body lying in the field along the highway.

A 33-year-old male was found deceased. There were no signs of trauma and nothing suspicious was found at the scene, police said.

The man has been identified however, he not from the Holland area and notifications are being made to family, police said on Saturday.

The incident remains under investigation and an autopsy is planned for next week.
