The Greater Ottawa County United Way recently welcomed Jacquelyn Bennett as the new coordinator for its Students Live United (SLU) program.

Bennett will oversee the program at area high schools by providing students with the support and tools they need to engage in local volunteer opportunities, track their hours, build leadership skills and earn recognition.

Bennett has worked in several fields, including property management, marketing and higher education. She says her previous role as the admissions and early college coordinator at Lake Michigan College has prepared her for working with students. During her time there, she recruited and guided students through the program, collaborated with teachers, gave presentations, and more.

“I am excited to be directly involved with high school students who are passionate about making an impact in their communities, as well as grow as individuals through volunteering,” she said.

Bennett lives with her husband on a blueberry farm in South Haven. Her interests include family, fashion, cooking, baking, gardening and boating.
