Swiftney joined Grand Haven Main Street on Thursday, July 11, and brings more than 10 years of extensive hands-on marketing and leadership experience to the position.
Swiftney oversaw Enterprise Rental Car out of Lansing, where he and his staff were awarded “Best Customer Service.”
He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), and will provide operational oversight and direction in strategic planning and goal setting.
“Grand Haven is an amazing place to live, play, visit, and shop,” Swiftney said. “It is a place I am lucky enough to call my home. It is my passion for improving the community that led me through the interview process and toward helping each of the business owners and great community leaders. I truly look forward to working with everyone from volunteers to the many outstanding merchants and work toward making Grand Haven Main Street Districts even more successful and inviting.

The mission of Grand Haven Main Street Downtown Development Authority is to enhance a vibrant historic business district through community partnerships. Volunteers and staff function under the leadership of a governing board of directors comprised of city officials, business owners and appointed members of the local community. Goals include the preservation of historic buildings, strengthening businesses, and promoting local merchants through events that draw the public to the business district throughout the year.
