Cleo attended First Reformed Church, where she volunteered serving Wednesday Night Suppers. She was employed at Grand Haven Gasket for more than 20 years prior to her retirement, and proudly served with the American Legion Auxiliary, Charles A. Conklin Post 28 for many years. She enjoyed being around people, and spent her time volunteering at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and participating in the Central Park Players of Grand Haven.
Cleo and John were members of Coast Guard City Sam’s Camping Group and they enjoyed traveling in the family motorhome in their younger years with the kids.
Cleo is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Phipps; sons, Tim and David Phipps; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Melvin Willett; three sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Joyce Cosier. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
The Funeral Service for Cleo will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at First Reformed Church in Grand Haven with Pastor John Kenny officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.
