Jimmie Rhoades

Mr. Jimmie Rhoades, age 93, of Spring Lake passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Heartwood Lodge.

He was born May 11, 1925 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Cecil and Janie (Farmer) Rhoades. On August 31, 1953 he married Lois Bone in Hernando, Mississippi. Jimmie served his country in WWII in the US Navy and was a life member of the VFW. He was a member of the Christian Life Center.

He loved his family, and especially his grandchildren. He was a wonderful storyteller and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois; two children: Judy (Tim) Schenck of Spring Lake and Ray Rhoades of Bald Knob, Arkansas; he was Paw-Paw to seven grandchildren: Adam Schenck, Rylee (Rachel) Schenck, Symon Schenck, Jason Schenck, Toni (Kevin) Stone, and Scott Rhoades; 10 great-grandchildren: Brady, and Spenser Schenck, Jack, and Ella Schenck, Madeline Tinsley, Preston Goodall, Trenor, and Chandler Rhoades, Chloe, and Cameron Rhoades. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Bradley Rhoades; siblings, Betty, Mary, Butler, Moneda, Wanda, Sue and Lonnie.

A private family funeral will take place. Memorial contributions in memory of Jimmie may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community. Burial will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery.
