On Tuesday, Oct. 30, the Grand Haven Tribune will host a debate between Congressman Bill Huizenga and Dr. Rob Davidson.

The pair are in the midst of a hotly contested race to represent Michigan’s 2nd Congressional District, which includes Ottawa County.

The debate will take place in the Lakeshore Middle School auditorium, 900 Cutler St., Grand Haven. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., with the debate starting at 7.

Seating is limited to the first 900 people in the door.

If you’re not able to attend the debate in person, you can watch it live on the Tribune’s Facebook page.

The debate will last 90 minutes. After brief introductions, we’ll pose a series of questions to the candidates. In order to go beyond the typical rehearsed answers, we’re devoting 10 minutes per question, allowing the candidates a chance to dive deeper into the issues.

The topics for the questions were selected based on suggestions by our readers.

Due to safety concerns, no signs will be allowed in the auditorium. Additionally, since the debate is scheduled for the evening before Halloween, no masks or costumes are allowed.
