Meg Peel won her third league title of the meet in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 56.23 seconds for her second individual gold medal. The Hope College sophomore also claimed her second school record of the week as a member of the 200 medley relay team, anchoring the 1:44.61 effort with a freestyle split of 23.39, besting Hope’s record-setting effort at the 2018 conference championships, featuring Peel as the anchor.
Albion College freshman Drew Fogel continued to shine in the mid-distance events, finishing in seventh overall of the 200 freestyle at 1:43.69.
Hope College junior Keon Rick anchored the Flying Dutchmen’s 200 medley relay team with a 21.28 freestyle split and took 13th place in the 100 butterfly at 54.15.
Finally, Alma College freshman WIll Brown took 13th in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:01.66.
The MIAA Championships conclude today at the Holland Community Aquatic Center.
