West Michigan Beach Volleyball has had a jam-packed summer of youth camps, tournaments and training, but as of this week, they aren’t done yet.

The local volleyball organization selected this year’s four scholarship recipients this week, awarding $500 to each student to go toward their impending college education.

This year’s honorees were Olivia Boeve and Logan Naperala of Grand Haven, Madison Heiss of Western Michigan Christian and Amanda Couturier of Hamilton.

Naperala and Couturier will continue their academic careers at Western Michigan University in just a few weeks, while Olivia Boeve will join the beach volleyball program at Mercer University and Madison Heiss will attend Muskegon Community College.

The award comes just days before WMVB closes the summer with their final beach tournament at Grand Haven State Park. Their third tournament of the season will run just like the others, minus participation from the AVPNext tour, who will not be in attendance Aug. 11-12.

All of WMVB’s typical amateur and junior divisions will be in full swing, including coed brackets and the newly added coed quads bracket on Sunday.
